Replica Me-262 at LSFM - a photo on Flickriver

            Every World War II history buff knows that the German Me-262 was the world's first operational jet fighter. Although around 1400 were built during the war, none survived to the present time in flying condition.

This one is a replica owned by the Collings Foundation, on loan to the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston, TX. It was built in Ft. Worth, Texas, to original specifications and includes a few original parts. It does have modern engines and avionics.

I find it interesting that they didn't paint a swastika on the tail. The originals had one.
