Hiking Into Tent Rocks - a photo on Flickriver

Yours truly, hiking into Kasha-Katuwe National Monument, otherwise known as Tent Rocks, so named for the cone-shaped hoodoos seen in the background. This is on the southern edge of the Jemez Mountains, which were formed by volcanic eruptions. The local rock is volcanic tuff with a hard cap. The tuff is soft and allows erosion to sculpt the hoodoos.
