Getting Ready to POP! (Explore! 3/20/24)

            Leaf buds of a Pie Cherry tree. With the heavy, wet snow storm past and melting snow still on the ground, but going away fast with the the warm Spring days, this cherry tree is getting ready to open up its leaf buds and start another season.
It takes a little longer here in the Mountain West of the United States to get the plants to break through the once frozen ground and for the trees to begin their leafing-out, but it won't be long now!

Shot using an Auto-Takumar 55mm f1.8 @f11 on about 30mm of extension helicoid to create this macro shot. This cluster of buds is less than 1.5 inches across, at most.
