Silent Eloquence

Eloquentia, one of two seated female figures flanking Gladstone's pillar on the Gladstone Memorial.

A very eloquent figure, who has often reached out to me as I pass. The streaks of corrosion suggest a glaucous sea change, something arisen from the immortal gloom of the deep sea, a hand reaching through green gulfs of frozen time to plead for a reflective pause.

Later (2012/08/06) note: Four years later I took this photograph again to how much of an improvement, if any, my newer camera technology and four years older skills had made. A lot more than I expected!
