EMD 9040 Grand Forks 14 Jun 06 - a photo on Flickriver

            EMD 9040 leads an elephant-style parade of Oakways out of the Grand Forks Yard with Clay Boswell coal empties.

This train is crossing over from the Passenger Main and onto the Grand Forks Sub, which, if I read the timetable correctly, ended at GF Switch.  It's a half mile around the wye to get to the Hillsboro Sub for the run south toward Fargo.  I'm not sure when it happened, but GF Switch is no more.  Now it's Hwy 29 Switch or something like that, but it will always be GF Switch to me!

I caught all-Oakway lashups a few times when I lived in North Dakota and it was always a treat.  Hard to argue against standard-cab EMDs!
