ARR 4012 Potter 20 Mar 13 - a photo on Flickriver

            ARR 4012 leads a six-pack of SD70MACs and an empty coal tran north along the icy shores of the Turnagain Arm near Potter, AK.

This train had stopped in Portage to pick up those flats of pipe you see trailing.  This run between Anchorage and Portage is pretty much flatter than flat, but it is very curvy as the tracks are sandwiched between the mountains/Seward Highway and the Turnagain Arm.

This is our fourteenth entry in the Alaska Revisited series.
