BNSF 1497 Grand Forks 23 Feb 08 - a photo on Flickriver

            BNSF 1497 is on the point of the Hannah Local as it builds air in the yard in Grand Forks, ND.

At the time, BNSF 1497 was just 1 of 12 GP15-1s left on the BNSF roster. Burlington Northern inherited their 25 GP15-1s from the SLSF which then became BNSF units after the merger with the Santa Fe. This particular mini-tunnel motor was built in September '77.

The Hannah Local ran one day a week, typically departing Grand Forks for Langdon, ND on Fridays and returning the following day. I never caught it much, but it had to use trackage rights on the Northern Plains Railroad to get from the Glasston Sub over to the Hannah Sub. I'm not even sure if it runs any more, but it was one of 7 (I think) locals that operated out of Grand Forks when I lived there.
