Il "Sasso degli zoccoli" o "Sas da le dèrmene" è un luogo profondamente legato alla tradizione culturale di questo territorio. L'etimologia del nome, infatti, si riferisce agli antichi zoccoli in legno (dèrmene) che venivano indossati dagli abitanti della valle di Fodom.
In corrispondenza di questo punto, infatti, avveniva il cambio di calzature: coloro che si recavano in alta quota per attività agro-silvo-pastorali si toglievano gli zoccoli in legno per indossare gli scarponi da montagna in cuoio e allineavano gli zoccoli sotto il masso per ripararli dalla pioggia e mantenerli asciutti. Gli zoccoli di legno collocati in prossimità di questo luogo sono un omaggio alla storia e tradizione di questo territorio e ancora oggi sono il simbolo della vita rurale di un tempo.

History

The "Sasso degli zoccoli" or "Sas da le dèrmene" is a place deeply rooted in the cultural tradition of this area. The etymology of the name, in fact, refers to the ancient wooden clogs (dèrmene) worn by the inhabitants of the Fodom Valley.
This spot was the site of the footwear change: those who went to high altitudes for agricultural, forestry, and pastoral activities would remove their wooden clogs and put on leather mountain boots, lining them up under the boulder to protect them from the rain and keep them dry. The wooden clogs placed near this spot are a tribute to the history and tradition of this area and remain a symbol of rural life of the past.
