Solaria

Dentro de unos 4500 millones de años, los habitantes del planeta tendrán la oportunidad de asistir a su último amanecer. Después, el sol agotará su ciclo y se transformará en una gigante roja. La nueva estrella aumentará espectacularmente de tamaño y engullirá a la canica azul llamada tierra.

Para entonces, ninguno de nosotros estaremos aquí. Por no haber, no habrá ni homos sapiens, ni primates, y tal vez, ni siquiera mamíferos, pues la vida habrá tenido más tiempo para evolucionar y transformarse del que dispuso en el pasado. Aún así, ese futuro no deja de llenarme de tristeza, pues será un final inamovible para el hogar en el que, mucho tiempo atrás, estuvimos vivos.

In about 4500 million years from now, there will be a last sunrise. After that, our sun will reach the end of its cycle and evolve into an enormous red giant and fagocitate the blue marble we call Earth.

By then, neither homo sapies nor primates will be around, and probably also not mammal. Live will have had the chance to evolve and get transformed during more time than it had until the current present. Nevertheless, I can't avoid to feel sad about the real and final end of the planet in which we, you and I, had the chance to live in.
