Happy Easter!

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (NIV, Luke 6:37-38)

Here Jesus counsels how judgment can lead to condemnation or forgiveness. Condemnation disseminates destruction, while forgiveness propagates peace and provides love with the liberty to increase. A chance is given to make amends for inappropriate actions, and an opportunity presented to do what is right. The act of forgiveness also sets precedence for how one will be respected in return. It ceases the cycle of revenge and fosters an environment where righteousness may flourish.
