Morro Bay - a photo on Flickriver

Morro Bay

            Ever since I was a kid, this place has always meant sea otters to me. There seem to be more now that I can ever remember, which is certainly a good thing. There's a sort of nursery area in the marina where we counted thirty-two adults and ten pups at one time. This one is out in the bay, but close to shore, and in the process of curling up in some kelp so that s/he doesn't drift away while napping. Morro Bay, California.
