There had been a hillside wildfire burning for a few hours before this was shot - added a slightly smoggy atmosphere to the whole area around the Wee Country and towards Stirling where the smoke would have dispersed.

A hazy sunset over the town of Alloa in Clackmannanshire, looking westwards towards Stirling on the day of the Spring Equinox. The sky is bathed in warm golden tones, gradually fading into soft pastels as the sun descends towards the horizon, marking the transition to longer days and the arrival of spring.

In the foreground, a strikingly shaped tree with bare branches stands alone on a grassy hill, its curved trunk adding character to the composition. Overhanging branches from another tree frame the top of the image, creating depth and perspective.

Beyond the hill, the town of Alloa stretches out below, with rooftops, church spires, and industrial structures subtly visible through the evening haze. The distant hills, including the Ochil Hills and the Trossachs, form a gentle, undulating backdrop, their silhouettes softened by the atmospheric mist.

The composition beautifully balances natural and man-made elements, capturing a peaceful moment on this special day when light and dark are in perfect balance, heralding the renewal of the season.
