They came in the night - a photo on Flickriver

A swish of water and brushes.
This was an unexpected visit from the city crew that cleans the streets.   In order to make it easier for snow removal and street cleaning, we are not allowed to park on the street in residential areas between 8 am and 6 pm.  I'm at a loss to explain why these three machines were cleaning the parts of the road they could access, after 9 pm.   The snow in front of  houses on my side of the street is still covering  3 to 4 feet of the road, so that will be covered with gravel when it melts.  There will also be patches of gravel where cars were parked on the street for the night.
