The curious one! - a photo on Flickriver

The curious one!

            While on a trail in Sequoia, we spotted this family of a mamma bear and two cubs. This one looked smaller and was often left behind on the steep slopes. The other one ran upward quickly before we could get a good glimpse of him/her. But this little one was different! Got very curious once it noticed us and kept waiting on small rocks looking back. The mamma was constantly cajoling the little guy to keep up with the family. A real teddy bear! :D

This was our first time spotting bears this closely. Before in Yellowstone, we saw a large bear but it was so far that it looked like a black blob in the pictures (even with a 500mm lens). 

Here we were extra cautious not to be noticed (I assume they knew well that we were ogling at them) as my wife was a bit freaked out since the mother with cubs might be very cautious and take any sudden movements as a threat. Nonetheless, the whole rendezvous was over in like 10mins and we were on our way.

Again this was near the Giant Forest area of the Sequoia National Park.
