Waikiki Fireworks - a photo on Flickriver

Waikiki Fireworks

            Every Friday night, the Waikiki Hilton launches fireworks from the beach. I rushed up Diamond Head as quickly as I could in the dark, and I arrived at the top exactly as the fireworks began. I set up one camera to film timelapse, and I used the other with a telephoto lens to take still images.

This 6-second exposure was taken with a focal length of 180mm. The full resolution is quite impressive--clearly visible are the people crowding the beaches to watch the show.
