Humpback Breach

            This isn't the greatest picture technically, but it was a shot taken purely on instinct, so I'm fairly happy with it. We were going through Snow Pass, which is kind of a hot spot for seeing humpbacks. I had just gotten the 300mm and 1.4x cheater on the tripod when we saw a humpback surface. I pointed the camera in the general direction and was about to check lighting, etc. when this guy did this. I simply pointed and fired. My focus is a little off, and the RAW file was on the darker side. Still, it was such an impressive sight that I don't mind too much. 

On the other hand, it would have been nice to have a good file with which I could have made a big enlargement. Oh well.
