Flickriver

            I'm getting some stuff ready for the Pueblo Art Guild's next show which is International themed. That theme had me digging through my photos from Canada, the UK and Kenya. 

I've posted a similar shot to this before with a single zebra in the corner of the frame. Initially, I liked that the best from this set since I'm always a fan of corner compositions. After 3+ years of reflection, though, I've decided that this capture tells a better story. We witnessed a whole dazzle of zebra passing on the horizon, so multiple zebras tells the story better than a single zebra does. 

Additionally, I like the interest that shapes of the silhouettes in this shot adds. The lead zebra is exhibiting a Flehmen's response, which he utilizes to detect pheromones. The young zebra is easily identifiable by size and the two others strike a contrast in pose between being on the move and alertly scanning for danger.

I've also processed this one with a little more punch than the first. While the other shot is probably truer to life, this scene better encapsulates my feelings of being there.
