Sometimes I think I am delusional, living in some kind of Star Trek world where all problems can be dealt with. I really don't think the oil/energy problem will every really be dealt with, it will just get messier and lead to more conflict. As we still have about 50 years worth, it's impact ( lack of any oil left ) won't be felt until just before it's mostly gone. The lack of preparation, such as in the transport and agricultural fields will punish us most. When in the span of only a few years tranport cost will raise 10 fold, the world economy will stall again. But a least in the future, the Politicians will be honest.
