Hiking - See/Oberpfalz - a photo on Flickriver

Südlich von Lupburg, unweit des Tals der Schwarzen Laaber, liegt die Ortschaft See.eschichtlich ist See als Urpfarrei des Gebietes anzusehen, das vom Geschlecht der Parsberger (933-1730) beherrscht wurde. Ihr Ursprung liegt im dunkeln, doch ist anzunehmen, dass St. Martin in See eine der ältesten, von den Karolingern (788-911) gegründeten Martinskirchen ist. Vom Königshof See aus erfolgte die Erschließung der umliegenden Gegend. Ortschaften wie z. B. Dettenhofen, Seibertshofen und Willenhofen weisen darauf hin. Diese Erschließung erfolgte entlang der Reichstraße, die durch das Tal der Schwarzen Laaber von Regensburg nach Nürnberg und Bamberg führte. Im Jahre 1007 ist hier ein Königshof genannt, und im selben Jahr ist ein Aufenthalt des durch- reisenden Kaiser Heinrich II. bezeugt. Das Innere der Kirche ist heute wesentlich geprägt von der Kirchenerweiterung vom Jahre 1882. Um diese Zeit wurden die Deckenbilder in volkstümlicher Ausdrucksweise erneuert. Quelle www.lupburg.de
