UNIQUE BROADCAST
Darwin. May 22.—A broadcast of the funeral service of the late
Rev. Dr. John Flynn, "Flynn of the Inland.'' at Alice Springs tomorrow, will originate through two of the transceiver sets which made his work possible.
Simultaneously a plane will fly over Mt. Gillen dropping wreaths on the mountain where his ashes are to be scattered. The Department of Air plane carrying his ashes is due in Alice Springs today.
Every Alice Springs trader will close his doors between 2.30
and 4 p.m. to-morrow while the service is in progress. This service is to held four miles from Alice Springs on the Simpson's Gap road, about 300 yards off the main track.
A unique broadcast through the transceiver sets, which made his work possible, will be one of the last tributes and probably a unique one, to Flynn of the Inland.
Two transceivers, which were made specially for Flynn's
work, they would not have been made otherwise, will channel the service to the outback people lie succoured, and also into an A.B.C. land line to Adelaide where it will be re-broadcast to the world.
