The apples of my eye - a photo on Flickriver

            I made these bows and arrows for my grandchildren. They were interested in the process of selection of the wood to make the bows, and the bending and stringing of the bow, and the knots and notches to make to hold the string in place without slipping.

It was only when I had a closer look at the photo I realised Rebekka had a different grip from the boys. The boys had left hand extended and held the arrow in their right hand. Whereas Rebekka held it the opposite way.

The boys wanted to take the bows and arrows into town, but I said no. They were not happy.

Somethings are ment only for the summertime and the summerhouse. Memories persist if they are tied down to a place and a time. Knotted notched and secure.
