Sørvágsvatn HAA Battery - a photo on Flickriver

            The largest anti-aircraft battery which still exists in the Faroes was constructed between July and November 1942 on the banks of the Sørvágsvatn lake. Named Chester Camp after the hometown of the first occupants, it was armed with four 3.7-inch guns in concrete emplacements, with a central command building and associated barracks for the gunners. The battery was operational throughout 1943 and was finally decommissioned in February 1944.
