This was probably the most disturbing yet humurous moment of my trip to Venice. Here i was in a magnificent, historical and classic city. I was taking in the sites, appreciating the interesting architecture and the maze of streets (while trying to get away from the throngs of fellow tourists). It was wonderful to see how classicaly maintained the city was, how unchanged most of it seemed to be. Then right in the middle of it all was this tiny McDonalds with dozens of people lined up and the familiar chaos and cacophony that accompanies it no matter what country you're in. I've traveled all over the globe and this mega corporation always manages to find a way to interrupt my appreciation for culture. I was quite annoyed by it and probably cursed under my breath my distaste of corporations and their greed. Then I realized that all my walking had made me thirsty and so I went in and bought a coke.
