Mike the Headless Chicken - a photo on Flickriver

            One of my favorite stories is the tale of Mike the Headless Chicken.  In the forties a chicken was beheaded by a farmer.  However the farmer managed to leave the majority of Mike's brainstem and Mike went on living without a head.  The farmer traveled the country showing off his newly created oddity.  The farmer would feed Mike with a syringe through his neckhole.  Sadly, Mike died a year and a half later when he choked to death.
