2017-02-17 1739 Nevada Northern #40, Ely, NV

            Number 40 was built for the Nevada Northern by the Baldwin Locomotive Company in Philadelphia in 1915. It was rebuilt by the railroad's shop in 1950, just before retirement. It was tucked away and protected in the back shop for decades. When the Kennicott Mining Company walked away from the railroad in 1980 it was just a matter of time before it's rebirth.
