Building process - a photo on Flickriver

Building process

            It took about 15 years for the statue to be built. Work on the statue did not commence until the early 1870s. It was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886.
