Greek Art : Poseidon or Zeus ? - a photo on Flickriver

            In room 15 of the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. The Poseidon of Artemision. The statue represents Poseidon brandishing the trident with his raised right hand. It is an original work of a great sculptor, possibly of Kalamis. It was raised from the sea, off the cape Artemision, in north Euboea. 460 B.C.
It is also sometimes referred to as Zeus of Artemision. (read about the controversy)
Bronze, 2.09 m (6' 10.5") high, 2.10 m (6' 10.75") fingertip to fingertip.
