The Dark Sky of Poloniny II - a photo on Flickriver

            Reprojection of the all-sky panorama from the mountain of Jarabá skala (Riaba skala) on the Slovak-Polish border in the Poloniny Dark-Sky Park with view towards the (Polish) north. Taken during the night of 2021 Perseid maximum, the photo also contains some meteor tracks (although I didn't have so much luck to capture them more), but first of all, it shows the beauty of the night sky in the region with the most dark sky in Slovakia; the arch of the Milky Way clearly running from horizon to horizon, the dark and emission nebulae, the Andromeda Galaxy, the gravity waves of the green (and red) airglow and the countless stars... 

Actually, Slovak Poloniny Dark-Sky Park is a part of the trilateral East-Carpathian Dark-Sky Tripark, together with its Polish and Ukrainian counterparts. It is an effort to preserve the beauty of natural night sky for the next generations.

Each star fields was taken @ F/2.0, ISO-2000 and 5x 15s; landscape fields as individual photos with longer varying exposure times as the blue hour/sunrise approached.
