            The Wind Blows on an Overcast Day
As waves rush to the shore, one after another
All the while, tree sentinels stand ready
Watching silently as the people go by
Are they seemingly oblivious or perhaps lost in thought
But there is now a chill in the air
A sense a change coming
Autumn, you might say
Evergreens will remain true to their green
While others are contemplating a change
As another season comes and goes

Another work of short poetry or prose to complement the image captured one afternoon in Voyageurs National Park while standing on the shores of Kabetogama Lake. The setting is extending to the west to a nearby lake island that mainly has evergreens. My thought in composing this image had been to zoom in with the focal length and have the island fill the image while including some waters leading up to it, as well as using the overcast skies as a backdrop. Basically, centering this island with a “voyageurs” setting around it.
