VMM-261 and HMLA-269 Flyover for UNITAS 2025 Opening Ceremony

            U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Connor Payne, a crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 (VMM-261), and a native of Missouri, observes flight operations from the back of an MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft in preparation for a flyover during the opening ceremony of UNITAS 2025 at Landing Zone Falcon, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 16, 2025. UNITAS, which is Latin for “unity,” was conceived in 1959 and has taken place annually since first conducted in 1960.
