Tionesta Research Natural Area (Revisited) (34)

            Hobblebush (Viburnum species) along West Fork Run, McKean County, within the Tionesta Research Natural Area of Allegheny National Forest.

In the natural area, this once-abundant shrub has largely disappeared. Overbrowsing by white-tailed deer (and possibly other factors) may have led to the decline. The upper reaches of West Fork Run, however, still contain a modest concentration of the shrub.
