Keynsham fire station - a photo on Flickriver

This is Keynsham's existing fire station in Temple Street, which I guess dates from the 'seventies or maybe earlier. It is due to close in 2016 when the new station being built at Hick's Gate opens, close to the Bristol end of the Keynsham by-pass. Keynsham town centre is currently undergoing a major redevelopment which will mean the fire station will have to move. This provides the opportunity to review service delivery in this area.

Our proposal is to amalgamate the part time station in Keynsham and the wholetime station at Brislington, which will also be closed, into a new wholetime fire station at Hicks Gate.

The new full time fire station will have excellent access to road networks, providing improved support to crews in the city of Bath, as well as access into Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The slightly unusual viewpoint and perspective result from experimenting with using my old manual Arsat 35mm shift lens on this new camera.
