Yukon Donald at Barbershop - a photo on Flickriver

            Donald Duck decked out in his hearty prospector duds at the Liarsville Gold Rush Trail Camp in Skagway, Alaska.

The excursion to Liarsville includes a salmon bake (wood-fired wild Alaskan salmon - yum!), panning for gold (every pan guaranteed to contain a couple of tiny flakes), live music and storytelling in a recreation of the camp that thrived there during the gold rush.

If you book through Disney as one of their "Port Adventures" you'll see a special version of the show that includes puppets, and one or more Disney characters will join you during the gold panning. On our trip it was Kenai and Koda from Brother Bear, as well as Donald.

Disney worked with various Alaskan tour operators to create special versions of their offerings that are tailored more to families than their normal events.
