Flickriver

            Well, it was all of a terrible disappointment really! We had been promised crimson sunsets because of the large amount of volcanic ash in the upper atmosphere, this together with the complete absence of aircraft activity prompted me to cancel my previous engagement for this evening, and re-aarange so I could visit my favourite beach for a spectacular sunset.

By 5.00 this evening I knew this wasn't really going to happen, all the cloud that had been up above all day had evaporated leaving a completely featureless sky. Never mind, I thought, at least we have the crimson sunset to look forward to!

At the beach I counted seven tripods, the owners of some of them I knew, the others I didn't, all had been lured there by "Our Derek" (BBC Wales weatherman) who had promised a spectacular red sunset. I bided my time and fired off a few shots but was not really satisfied so just sat and watched it instead.
