Snow Bunting on the Beach - a photo on Flickriver

            I was playing football with my sons on the vast beach at Holkham in Norfolk a few weeks ago when a flock of Snow Buntings flew over and started feeding on the sand no more than 20 metres away from us. Fortunately, I had my camera with me so left the boys playing football whilst I crept close enough to the birds to get some images. It was a very windy day and they were pecking at morsels whilst hunkered down behind the small rifles in the wet sand. I had to get down to ground level to get any decent images. Fortunately there weren't too many people around to see me lying flat on the wet sand like an idiot.
