Red-Wattled Lapwing - a photo on Flickriver

            Clicked at Madayipara, a flat-topped hillock located in Kannur district known for its biodiversity. While walking past a short stone wall I was surprised by this rather agitated Lapwing. Realised that maybe I was close to its ground scrape nest that are difficult to find since the eggs are cryptically coloured and usually match the ground pattern. So I backed away and clicked a few shots of the bird which had by then flown on top of the wall.
