Flickriver

            Tijdens onze septemberuitstap naar de Rijn kregen we twee keer BLS Cargo voor de lens. In de voormiddag zagen we de Cargobeamer richting het zuiden (de foto hiervan volgt later op deze stream), en in de namiddag legde deze Ambrogiotrein koers naar Muizen.

Helaas was de locomotief niet één van de Vectrons die ik persoonlijk mooier vind en die ook in België mogen rijden. In plaats daarvan kregen we dit blauwe exemplaar voor de lens. Op de loc is zelfs nog de vorige eigenaar zichtbaar, af te leiden uit de resterende stickers op de zijkant: het failliet gegane Widmer Rail Services.

BLS Cargo operates multiple trains through the scenic Rhine Valley, with many of them carrying Ambrogio trailers. I had the opportunity to photograph one of these trains on the sunny 18th of September 2024 at Neuwied Feldkirchen.

The train was hauled by a blue Vectron locomotive, which was previously used by Widmer Rail Services, as evidenced by the remnants of stickers still visible on the side of the engine.
