Flickriver

Met de foto vanaf het klassieke standpunt in Seefeld (waarvan ik een pak voorbeeldfoto’s had gevonden), had ik meteen een mooie binnen. Toch wilde ik in de week dat we hier verbleven kijken of er vanuit deze plek nog andere interessante invalshoeken te vinden waren. Zowel ’s morgens als ’s avonds laat zou de zon hier namelijk ideaal staan om treinfoto’s te maken.

Op de opnieuw zonovergoten avond van dinsdag 8 april 2025 (wat een weer hadden we getroffen – echt waar!) besloot ik, na het aperitief en voor we naar het restaurant zouden gaan, nog snel even de kleine kilometer af te stappen naar de overweg aan de Kreuzweg. En jawel, ook ’s avonds blijkt hier best wat mogelijk. Ik had bovendien geluk dat het golfterrein nog niet open was, waardoor ik even het terrein op kon – niet om een balletje te slaan, maar om de S-Bahn richting Scharnitz vast te leggen, net in de allerlaatste zonnestralen van de dag.

With a shot from the classic viewpoint in Seefeld (which I’d seen in plenty of reference photos), I quickly scored a good one. But during our stay, I wanted to see if there were other interesting angles to explore from this spot. The light looked promising both in the early morning and late evening for train photography.

On another beautifully sunny evening — Tuesday, April 8, 2025 (we really lucked out with the weather!) — I took a quick walk to the level crossing at Kreuzweg after our aperitif and before heading to dinner. And yes, even in the evening this spot has potential. I was lucky the golf course hadn’t opened yet, so I could briefly step onto the grounds — not to play, but to capture the S-Bahn to Scharnitz in the very last rays of sunlight.
