Pīpipi - Brown Creeper - Mohoua novaeseelandiae

Brown creepers are found in a wide range of forested and shrubland habitats throughout the South Island and Stewart Island. Often the first sign is a large chattering flock high in the forest canopy. 

Small active birds they are difficult to photograph with their habit of always having cover between them and any perceived threat, and the fact that they seem never to be still for more than a second or two.
