The Santa Ynez River is flowing again!

            This is the muddy Santa Ynez River flowing around a bend near Manzanita Lane today.  It's was no doubt higher in the heavy rain early this morning, but it's still respectable at about 4,000 cfs going into Lake Cachuma further downstream.  It's remarkable how the water in all the creeks drops almost immediately when the heavy rain stops.  That's still a lot of water going down to Lake Cachuma.  The reservoir was about 32.3% full this morning, so it's got a long ways to go.  If you look close along the right bank of the river in my photo, you can see winter-bare willow and cottonwood trees.
