Tiny spider on fallen oak branch - genus Philodromus

Here is a tiny spider on a fallen branch of Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia, Fagaceae) in the woods today. I was trying to get a photo of the red fungus that looks like raspberries that I show in this photo, and a bit of one clump is visible at the top of this shot. The spider was interested in the fungus or in some critters on the fungus. I thought at first that it is one of those Crab Spiders with cryptic colors like the one in this photo. But after looking closer, I believe it is a Running Crab Spider in the family Philodromidae because leg ll is clearly longer than leg l, and I believe it is genus Philodromus because of the spacing of its upper set of eyes - the middle pair are closer to the outside eyes than each other. (My book says succinctly that the posterior medians are closer to the posterior laterals than to one another.) This spider is tiny, about 700 pixels long in this 1:1 macro shot, which comes to 2.7 mm, about 1/10 inch. (See here for how I figured.) Once I started looking for tiny spiders, I keep finding them. We had exciting weather last night with a Flash Flood Warning and an actual Tornado Warning! Apparently a twister did touch down in Ventura County last night - here's the story. Neither event happened here in SB, but our storm was intense - and short-lived, it was over by midnight. We ended up with 1.6 inch of rain - nice, but less than the 2-4 inches I was hoping for. We got no more rain today, but there is a chance for more rain on Sunday night and Monday. This storm brings out total up to 10.90 inches of rain for the season since September 1 - that's 122% of normal, not bad!
