Fly caught in a spider web - a photo on Flickriver

            This is a fly (Diptera) caught in a spider web in the woods a couple of days ago.  It might be in the family Lauxaniidae, but another possibility is the genus Suillia in the family Heleomyzidae.   I get confused by these flies every year.  I already have my two photos for the Fly Day Friday group, but HFDF anyway!  Arachtober 20a.  (San Marcos Pass, 16 October 2023)
