Cocoon of a Ribbed Casemaker Moth (genus Bucculatrix, Bucculatricidae, Lepidoptera)

            This is the tiny cocoon of a Ribbed Casemaker Moth (genus Bucculatrix, family Bucculatricidae) in the order Lepidoptera.  I found it today on native Coyote Bush (Baccharis pilularis) in the Asteraceae plant family.  (San Marcos Pass, 30 March 2012)

The larvae are host-plant specific,and there are three that feed on Coyote Bush.  This is one of those.
