LINEAS 2824 @ Linkhout 🇧🇪 - a photo on Flickriver

Nu we weer thuis zijn van onze avonturen in Duitsland, nemen we onmiddellijk een sprong voorwaarts in de tijd en belanden we in de herfst en meer bepaald op woensdag 22 november.

Sinds lang was het nog eens mooi herfstweer op mijn vrije woensdag en dus stond er een half dagje hobbyen op de agenda.

Ik geraakte evenwel thuis niet voor 10u30 weg (af en toe moet de stookketel ook eens onderhouden worden, niet?) en loste zo als het ware mijn broer Steven af die die woensdag tot een uur of elf langs L35 was gaan staan.

Na een vlotte rit kwam ik rond 11u45 op het plekje in Linkhout aan: mijn oog was op dit plekje gevallen omdat ik hier in beide richtingen kon fotograferen.

Eerste kandidaat voor mijn fototoestel en filmcamera was - naast de reguliere lokaal- en intercity-trein natuurlijk - deze keteltrein voor het Solvay-concern. De 2824 van LINEAS had die dag de taak om deze trein vanuit Antwerpen in de richting van Millingen te slepen waarbij de trein rond 12u25 het hersftachtige Linkhout passeerde!

After my adventures in Germany, we turn back to Belgium and go forward to the next season: autumn.

On Novemver 22, I had the opportunity to visit the main freight line between the port of Antwerp and Germany.
I passed half a day in Linkhout where I saw a lot of nice freight and passenger trains.
First freight train that day was this oil train from Antwerp to Millingen Solvay, driven by a TRAXX of LINEAS.
