HSL Polska 186 181-4 @ Linkhout 🇧🇪

Nadat de overbrenging van de Desiro City-stellen voor SWR richting Aarschot waren verdwenen, was het opnieuw tijd voor het reguliere reizigersverkeer op L35.

De zon zakte steeds meer en de schaduwen werden bijgevolg ook steeds langer en langer. Maar toch hoopte ik stiekem nog op één trein: de suikertrein richting Duitsland.

Ik wist al dat de trein die dag zeker zou rijden en met welke loc aangezien ik rond 12u de 186 181-4 van HSL Polska als losse loc richting Antwerpen had zien bollen. Die zou dus zeker nog terugkeren naar Duitsland: alleen was de vraag wanneer exact? Bronnen hadden het over een doortocht tussen 15u en 16u in Linkhout. Het werd dus nog spannend met de lange schaduwen tot ik rond 15u22 een verlossend sms'je kreeg met de melding dat de trein net in Testelt gepasseerd was.

OK, dit kwam wel goed en ja hoor, een tiental minuten later reed de fraaie loc met bijbehorende egaal witte sleep VTG-wagons (oef... ik had de (toen nog) niet besmeurde sleep) mijn lens voorbij.

En zo was de cirkel voor 2017 trouwens rond qua spoorwegfotografie want nadat ik het jaar was gestart met een foto van deze loc, kon ik er het jaar dus ook mee afsluiten!

After the train with the brandnew Desiro City-EMU's, the only thing I had to do was to wait for the (empty) freight train which carries sugar from Germany to the port of Antwerp and back.

I knew this train was coming because I had seen the locomotive for this train who passed my place at Linkhout around midday. I could only hope that this locomotive with the brandnew VTG-wagons passed before sunset!

And yes, the train came at 3:32 PM in nice, low light!
For me, it was a little bit like a circle: both my first and last picture of 2017 were pictures of this particular locomotive!
Nice one to end the year, isn't it?!
