southeastern 395 022 'Alistair Brownlee' @ Capel-le-Ferne 🇬🇧

We verlieten ons uitzichtpunt op het 'Samphire Hoe Country Park' en zetten er stevig de pas in (wel steeds genietend van de uitzichten op natuur... en spoorlijn 😉) richting het keerpunt van onze wandeling aan het 'Clifftop Café' in Capel-le-Ferne. Daar dachten we iets te drinken en te eten maar jammer genoeg was het café niet open.

Er zat dus niets anders op dan de kliffen af te dalen richting 'Abbotscliffe Beach' op een paadje dat hier en daar best glibberig lag, mede veroorzaakt door de regen- en onweersbui die we de vorige nacht over ons heen hadden gekregen - en dat het glibberig was, heb ik trouwens mogen ondervinden hoor (gelukkig met niet al te veel ergs tot gevolg...).

Voordat we het 'Abbotscliffe Beach' bereikten, moesten we nog het brugje over de sporen over. En dat brugje was het ideale punt om de innerlijke mens toch wat te spijzen met een aantal droge wafeltjes (die hadden we gelukkig mee voor noodgevallen) en tijdens het knabbelen werden er natuurlijk ook wat treinen op foto gezet. Jammer genoeg was de bewolking wel steeds meer en meer komen opzetten (nu ja, zo konden we wel zonder problemen in beide richtingen fotograferen!) maar gelukkig vond de zon af en toe wel nog een gaatje om voor wat extra licht te zorgen!

De 'Javelin' met als nickname 'Alistair Brownlee' (een Britse triatleet) rijdt hier in een dienst van London St. Pancras International naar London St. Pancras International tussen Folkestone en Dover langs de witte kliffen van Dover.

After the viewpoint over the 'Samphire Hoe Country Park', we reached the turning point of our walk at the Clifftop Café in Capel-le-Ferne (which unfortunately was closed). So we could only continue our walk and descend the cliffs towards Abbotscliffe Beach.

Before we reaches Abbotscliffe Beach, we had to cross the bridge over the railway line and this was a fine place to take some pictures!

This Class 395 'Javelin', nicknamed 'Alistair Brownlee' (a British triathlete), is seen here in a service from London St. Pancras International to London St. Pancras International between Folkestone and Dover along the white cliffs of Dover.
