southeastern 375 812 + 375 802 @ Capel-le-Ferne 🇬🇧

Nadat deze Class 395 'Javelin' richting Dover was gereden, waren onze magen nog altijd niet voldoende gespijsd (wat wil je ook met een aantal droge wafeltjes...) en konden we dus ook nog even wachten op de treinenparade vanuit Dover ;-)

Tijdens het wachten op de treinen vanuit Dover ontstond overigens ook het plan om - indien mogelijk - via het strand terug naar Dover te stappen. We waren echter niet zeker of dat ook zou lukken want we hadden al vernomen dat het pad bij vloed op een aantal plaatsen gewoon in zee verdween...

Een aantal wandelaars konden ons echter geruststellen: het was rond 11u die ochtend eb geweest en we hadden dus zeker nog een drietal uur vooraleer het pad stilletjes in zee ging verdwijnen (verschil tussen eb en vloed is hier makkelijk een vijftal meter trouwens!). Reken daarbij dat het slechts een klein 1u30 doorstappen was (nou ja... op kiezelsteentjes weliswaar - dat ging dus niet altijd even vlot) naar het 'Samphire Hoe Country Park' en onze rekensom was gemaakt: we zouden na de doortocht van de trein vanuit Dover Priory naar London Charing Cross opnieuw gaan wandelen.

Bij doortocht van deze trein begon ook de bewolking weer stilletjes aan open te breken - dat beloofde dus voor de rest van de dag en voor onze wandeling langs het water ;-)
