Op 23 mei 2020 was er een testrit gepland met een Euro 4001. Alhoewel ik (en ook Steven die mee was) er oorspronkelijk vanuit gingen dat we hier een Euro 4000 met nummer 4001 te zien zouden te zien krijgen, werden we compleet verrast toen er een volledig ander locomotieftype de bocht uitkwam.

Een telefoontje was nodig om de zaak op te helderen: de Euro 4001 is inderdaad een ander type en heeft niets te maken met een Euro 4000! Qua uiterlijk trekken ze trouwens op de Euro Dual die Stadler nu uitlevert aan verschillende Europese spoorwegmaatschappijen. Alleen is de Euro 4001 een volledige diesellocomotief.

Mooi om deze dus op foto te hebben, des te meer omdat de doortocht op het ideale moment gebeurde, namelijk in een kleine opklaring!
