DBAG 408 029 @ Übach-Palenberg 🇩🇪

Zoals ik bij deze foto al schreef, kon je me midden mei in Duitsland vinden op de lijn tussen Aachen en Mönchengladbach.
Naast de vele (omgeleide) cargo's, stond ik er natuurlijk ook voor de tussen Köln en Aachen omgeleide ICE- en Eurostar-treinen. Hoog tijd dus om eens zo een trein te tonen 😉

Net na mijn aankomst in Hofstadt zag ik rond 12u15 ICE 3neo 8029 'Europa' als ICE 15 vanuit Brussel richting Frankfurt (Main) Hbf snellen. Ik maakte natuurlijk een foto voor het archief maar rekende ook onmiddellijk uit wanneer deze ICE 3neo opnieuw richting Brussel zou sporen.

Volgens mijn berekening zou dat als ICE 12 zijn, met vertrek om 15u31 in Frankfurt (Main) Hbf (normaal vertrekt ICE 12 pas om 16u27 in Frankfurt maar de omleidingsroute nam natuurlijk wat extra tijd in beslag - tussen Aachen en Brussel reden de ICE's dan in principe volgens de normale drgl). Ik controleerde voor alle zekerheid ook nog eens mijn berekening op de app van de DB en ja hoor: daar werd dit stel ook ingepland op ICE 12 met aankomst om 18u12 in Aachen Hbf.

Ik wist dus meteen waar ik rond 18u moest staan, nl. in Übach-Palenberg! Mooi op tijd nam ik plaats maar zoals wel vaker die dag maakte het reizigersverkeer tussen Köln en Aachen nog wat vertraging en zo gleed ICE 3neo 8029 'Europa/Europe' met een klein kwartier vertraging pas om 18u16 mijn lens voorbij. Altijd wel leuk om deze kleurvariant op foto te zetten.
