Vandaag, op 7 november 2025, werd er een Siemens Velaro Egypt (voor de nummerfans: Velaro Egypt 8006, maximumsnelheid 230 km/u) overgebracht van de HST-werkplaats in Vorst-Zuid (ten zuiden van Brussel) naar de HST-basis nabij Le Coucou. De Velaro Egypt zal namelijk de volgende nachten onder 25 kV testritten doen op de Belgische L1.

Beetje bijzonder dat er een Velaro voor Egypte in België getest wordt, maar hé... als de overbrenging dan gebeurt met twee veteranen van het Belgische spoor, dan gaan de +/- 15 aanwezige spotters op dit plekje zeker niet klagen 😇

Today, November 7, 2025, a Siemens Velaro Egypt (unit 8006 with maximum speed 230 km/h) was transported from the HST base in Forest-South (south of Brussels) to the HST base near Le Coucou. The Velaro Egypt will be conducting test runs under 25 kV on the Belgian L1 line during the following nights.

It's a bit unusual that a Velaro for Egypt is being tested in Belgium, but hey... if the transfer is done with two veterans of the Belgian railway, then the +/- 15 spotters present at this spot will certainly not complain 😇
